An unusual shaped antique treen kmitting sheath with long handle with a carved ball to the end. Chip carved decoration with diagonal slot for the apron strings. Carved diamond and initials M T.  It has a good early date of 1796.
It measures 18cm l x 2.3cm w x 2.3cm d
I have only found one illustration similar in Brears paper where it is said to be from Tebay.in Cumbria.
