This is a good sized Georgian lignum vitae footed salt with a really good colour and patina. It has incised line decorations to the top of the salt.
The salt measures 10cm h x  7cm h.

They were placed on the table, the larger ones known as the master salts were placed on the top table the smaller ones for the rest of the household. Salt was quite expensive and a pinch would be taken with a salt spoon or a knife tip.
