This lovely C19th mahogany knitting sheath, rectangular in section is inlaid with diamonds and has two glass panel windows. Behind the glass is paper with a handwritten inscription and cut out diamonds and squares one panel says' February 24 1832' and the other panel says ' A present for and the name". Each panel has a border of triangles. There is an old collection label to the back.
