This is a 19th century circular spice box with a push on lid, and a divided interior for nutmegs and mace.

There is an old label 'Mace' on the lid.

Mace is an aromatic golden brown spicederived from the coating of nutmeg. It is the lact waxy webbing which surrounds the nutmeg.

The box measures 11.5cm w x 4cm h.
