A very nice 19th century  antique string box, made from lignum vitae, beautifully turned, having the very nice feature on the lid of the blade to cut the string with beneath which is a hole for the string to be pulled through. Well turned drop in and turn base.
It measures 12cm in diameter x 13cm in height including the blade.
Great colour with a lot of the light wood contrasting with the dark lignum . A great piece of antique treen.
