A  late 18th century spiral candlestick on its original turned base with exceptionally good, patina, some old wood worm holes all treated and long gone.
Note the unusual shape traveller to the side to adjust the height of the candle and to remove the end pieces, also the internal socket for placing the candle has raised sides rather than being flat which is a nice feature. C1780
