This lovely early 1800s snuff box is full of character. and an unusual subject matter. A lovely boxwood carved man's face with great details to all the features. The man is wearing a headdress. This points to it possibly being a prophet, pilgrim or a biblical character like Moses or Noah.
There is a hinged lid at the back and the interior of the box is lined with tortoise shell.
