An antique pin cushion top sewing box, circa 1840, the slanting sides in alternate bands of rosewood and satinwood and raised on bun feet. The lid interior in red silk over a compartmentalised base in red paper and silk with pin cushion and needle book, with two mother of pearl top reels, a similar waxer with turquoise central stone, a filigree thimble, and a pair of steel scissors, lock replaced, with key, 17.5cm x 12.5  cm x 10.5cm.
