A lovely 19th century Scottish spice box, turned from sycamore with a turned knob handle and the word Spicebox on the lid. The base has an attractive scalloped rim. Inside the box there are all the original eight lidded spice pots with names to the lid. Seven pots surround the larger central pot. The labels read Pepper, Nutmeg, Mace, Cinnamon, Lemon Peel, Cloves, Ginger and the central one is Cinnamon- maybe for sticks rather than powder.
The box measures 16cm w x 9cm h. Lovely to have a complete box with all the spice pots inside.
