A good 19th century Scottish Luggie.
A Luggie is a Scottish drinking vessel. It consists of alternating wooden staves bound by willow. I One of the staves extends to form a handle.Interestingly this example has two layered base, in between the layers there are some dry peas which when shaken would get the attention of the bar tender.
It measures 12.5cm w x 8.5cm h excluding the handle .Similar examples are illustrated in Treen for the Table.
