This is a good quality shoe  snuff box made from rosewood, most were made from mahogany or fruitwood, with brass pique work buttons,  on the toe four leaves representing a flower or a four leaf clover for luck. It even is decorated on the base . It has a vacant pewter cartouche to put someones initials.
