This is a mid 1700s misers snuff box. When you turn the lid it only opens enough to take a pinch of snuff, hence why its called a misers snuff box.
The press wood lid is decorated with St George on horse back and has the words St George above him. There are also other smaller pictures and stars .
It measures 8cm w x 2cm h.
