This is a well fitted 19th century artist watercolour paint box by Brodie & Middleton of London, est 1840.
The box has various paint blocks/cakes a glass mixing bowl, a ceramic mixing palette, various paint brushes.  A couple of the trays lift where there is further storage space. There is a brass locking pin, which unlocks the drawer below , which has further ceramic mixing dishes and a receipt for this paint box back in 1994.
The box itself is edged with ebony, has a working key, and brass flush handle for the drawer.
The box is in good condition.
It measures 22cm w x 19cm d x 7.3cm h.
