A very nicely patinated early Victorian antique glove powderer, with perforated holes to top to allow the powder to be dispersed, the middle part unscrews to refill the glove powderer. Turned from boxwood.
These antique glove powderers were popular in Victorian times when the long fitted gloves were in fashion, the powder helped to ease the gloves on and kept them smelling sweet! C1840
