An early 1800s paint decorated whitewood Tunbridge Ware beehive pin poppet and storage box of large size. The skep is realistically painted in imitation of rope and unscrews to reveal a pale pink velvet pin cushion.
The circular box base unscrews from the main body and  sewing accessories like pins and needles  could be stored here.  
It stands on three compressed bun feet.
