This is a lovely oak carving dating from around the early 1800s. It is most likely to be a wooden oak carving of Oliver Cromwell. Note the lovely details from his hair to his carved face and clothes. The carving really stands out and has great depth and lovely colour and patina.
The carving measures approx 18cm l x  12.5cm w x 3.3cm d at the base. 
In the early 1800s Oliver Cromwell was still much admired as a defender of Parliament and as  a protestant hero.
