A very rare Tunbridge Ware travelling  writing compendium, which includes an inkwell, sander and box for storage in the form of a  painted cottage. The roof unscrews to reveal an ink bottle, the cottage unscrews to reveal the pounce/sander and the base unscrews for storage of writing accessories.
The original label still remains intact "palmer & Sons, Pen Cutters, East Grinstead. This company was recorded as being operational in 1800 and were suppliers of goods to his majesty.
