An antique treen knitting sheath carved from one piece of wood in the shape of a blade with handle. This antique treen knitting sheath has so much to offer from the wire twisted handle to the carved bible book inlaid with HOLY BIBLE with a heart to the reverse and the initials AHW all with red paint/wax or ink, this method of decoration is described in Peter Brears book as exceptional. It doesn't stop there though there is a verse all in red saying 'Thy word have i hid in my heart that i may not sin against the"  presumably meant thee but ran out of room for the extra "e", to the blade. There are some initials to the front of the blade HMC with some red wax dot decoration.
