Drizzling was popular in the late 1700s and was a hobby built around carefully removing valuable gold & silver threads from old textiles, brocade dresses & tapestries, so as to not waste the thread, and then selling the threads. Drizzling wasn’t just for women; Prince Leopold was known to partake in this hobby.
