A rare late 1700s fruitwood apple corer. This is a lovely example, not only does the piece have a great colour and patina, it also has unusually a carved dog to the top. The dog has a curved tail, carved face, there is a small repair to the snout, and four carved  legs. It has good narrow proportions.
The piece measures 13.5cm l x 1cm w x 2.5cm d at the top for the dog.
