A rare pair of late 1600s/early 1700s yew wood candlesticks, with lovely ring turning to the stems and stepped base. Turned by hand.
The base has a label saying from the collection of Count and Countess Csaky, Bossington House
Note the slightly tary surface to the underside of the base, this was applied to protect the base and reduce movement, very typical of late 1600s treen pieces.
They measure 19cm h x 9cm w.
