A late 1700s spice muffineer, turned from sycamore has a great colour and patina.
It has a perforated screw top and finial. The urn shaped base is of traditional form and is seated on a short stem. It has a lovely colour and patina. There is a small old chip repair to the base that has been done well,
Note the lovely pole lathe marks to the underside of the base.
These mutineers were for sprinkling spice and sugar on to hot buttered muffins, hence the name muffineer.
This muffineer measures approx 14.5 cm h x 6cm w at the widest section.
