A very impressive late 1700s/ early 1800s burr snuff box of a particularly large size, maybe carved to resemble a hedgehog, with a hinged lid to the base.
Interestingly there is a stamp on the foil lining inside which looks like an excise/duty stamp which shows that the box was filled with taxed snuff sold commercially for  British domestic use.
This lovely table snuff box measures 16.5cm w x 11cm h x 11cm d and is a very impressive snuff box.
