An early 1800s paint decorated whitewood Tunbridge Ware beehive pin poppet and storage box of large size. The circular box base is raised on three bun feet and has ring painted, flower and floret decoration. Sewing accessories like pins, needles, thimbles could be stored in here. The skep is realistically painted in imitation of rope and unscrews to reveal a red velvet pin cushion.
