A Georgian circular box decorated with rolled paper.
Rolled paper decoration was fashionable for a brief period in the latter part of the 18th century and early part of the 19th century. Boxes were made specifically so that they could be decorated by ladies using coloured paper which would be rolled up to create delicate rolls. These rolls were then inset onto the surface of a box in patterns. It is quite unusual to see a box with such good colours.
It measures 7cm w x 3cm h.
