A 19th century mahogany candle/cutlery box with shaped backboard and flame mahogany panel to front.  Hinges replaced as some stage, as with most boxes especially ones which originally had leather hinges. 
Good colour and patina.
It measures approx 51cm in length and 15.5cm in diameter at its widest point.
